2010 World Cup Of Soccer
The 2010 soccer World Cup begins in less than three weeks. The tournament will run from June 11 to July 11 in South Africa. Honduras will be making only their second appearance in a World Cup. Their first appearance, in 1982, resulted in no wins and only two goals in three games before they were eliminated.
Honduras, with only 7.5 million citizens, is one of the smallest countries in the 32-team tournament and is not expected to do well. Their qualification into the World Cup is already a major Cinderella story.
Nonetheless, here in Honduras, where soccer is life, World Cup fever is peaking. During the World Cup this country will shut down and only live for soccer.
It is not important if you like or don’t like soccer. For one month this summer Hondurans will exist only for soccer. Businesses, conversations, recreation and even our ministry will focus 100% on soccer.
