A Multicultural Night Out – Priceless

This evening the three of us had a night on the town. It was two things: 1) One of the least expensive nights out we have ever had, and 2) One of the most multicultural nights we ever experienced.

We started by going out to dinner at a Chinese restaurant called Restaurante Excelente. It was owned by Chinese people who spoke Spanish. Three great meals and sodas for a total of $14.

We then took a Costa Rican bus to downtown San Jose. That cost us a whopping 26 cents per person. That comes out to three roundtrips for $1.56.

The Orquesta Sinfonica Nacional de Costa RicaWe then went to the 110 year old Costa Rican National Theatre and listened to the Costa Rican National Symphony play music written by the Austrian Composer, Mozart. This cost us $6 per person for a total of $18. Oh, by the way, the Costa Rican National Symphony is lead by a Japanese Conductor.

To recap – we paid $33.56 for the three of us to eat Chinese food, ordered in Spanish, attend a Costa Rican symphony, that was playing music written by an Austrian, and conducted by a Japanese.
