A Word And A Song In Armenia Bonito
On Sunday our team attended church service at one of the churches in Armenia Bonito. We worshiped at Pastor Irene’s church. He has been very supportive of the work we are doing in Armenia Bonito.
In the first few minutes of the service Mike was asked to stand and deliver a brief Bible study. This came with no notice, but that is something we are becoming accustomed to. In anticipation of this Mike had prepared a brief study on the first verse of Ephesians. The study was well received. When Mike was done the Pastor indicated that it was a joy to hear a fresh perspective on the Bible and that they looked forward to hearing from Mike again.
Our teammates, Josh and Andy, had come prepared to sing a few
songs on their guitars. They sang two worship songs in Spanish and one in English. They did a great job. The church usually sings older, traditional Spanish songs. The guys played songs that were modern and upbeat. The congregation greatly enjoyed singing songs they here on the radio.
One has to pause and wonder that when God wanted all His children worshiping together if He was thinking of something like this…people from different parts of the world and different cultures worshiping Him together in different styles and with different perspectives, yet all simultaneously bringing glory to His name.
