Abstinence, Parasites And A Mesioden

On Wednesday the 10-person medical team from Trinity Presbyterian of Harrisburg, PA completed their third productive day of work in Honduras.

abstinence classThe elementary school in Armenia Bonito invited us to put on a health education day for with the 125 students during school. We used almost the entire school day to the teach kids. Our permanent team translated and the doctors and nurses from Trinity taught classes to the kids. The kids learned about sexual abstinence, dental hygiene, physical fitness and nutrition. We taught a gospel message, treated each child for parasitic worms and distributed daily vitamins.

And, the rest of the crew saw 30 general medicine patients. In the clinic they worked on such cases as an abdominal mass, a mesioden (an extra tooth) and suspected case of child abuse.

This group is making an amazing impact.  To receive pictures, stories and prayer needs about Trinity's work follow us on Twitter, Facebook, and this blog.
