Always Looking For New Missionaries
Recruitment is a constant. Our team must always be looking for new missionaries to join Team Honduras. New missionaries add new passions, address attrition and enable us to add new ministries. Right now, as is always the case, we are aggressively seeking new missionaries to join our work.
There is rapid expansion and growth in the future of our ministry. But, in order to address the deficiency we must seek new blood early and often. From the time an applicant decides to start the application process it can take several years to make it to the field. MTW evaluates and trains the missionary. After that comes support raising and then language school. For our family it took us almost three years to arrive in Honduras…and we were aggressive.
A married couple just visited Honduras for their vision trip (job interview) and we are talking to another individual about visiting in a month or so. There are also three other people with whom we are in various stages of early discussions. Mike just contacted MTW’s recruitment department and updated them with our desires and said, “Send us more applicants.”
When all of the promotion, recruitment and job interviews are over it is still about one thing…God’s will. It is not our job to convince someone to be a missionary if they are not called, and it is not our job to sell Team Honduras like it is rush week on a college campus. Our team and our process exist to educate and affirm a future missionary’s call. We have turned down missionaries and been turned down. The last thing we want is a missionary in Honduras who not meant to be here.
Please be in prayer that we find the future missionaries that God has waiting for us.
