Chapel Hill, Children And Church
Our 2nd of 10 short-term mission teams of the summer arrived late Saturday. This 12-person team comes to us from Chapel Hill Presbyterian Church in Douglasville, GA. They are all adults and have several Spanish speakers and construction professionals.
Sunday started with a three-hour child molestation training followed by an hour driving tour of La Ceiba. In the afternoon the team joined us in our home for Gringo Church, where we study, pray and sing in English. After dinner we took the group out to Armenia Bonito for the first time. We attended one of the churches for a 6pm worship service. When the pastor of the church learned that several of the members speak Spanish he convinced one of them to pray up front and convinced another to preach. Nothing like winging it.
On Monday we begin construction and daily ministry in Armenia Bontio. Please pray for good health and aggressive fluid consumption.
