Daniel, Foundations And Three Rocks
The short-term mission team from Covenant Presbyterian Church in Paso Robles, CA continues to do a great job.
Tuesday morning found the team divided into two equal groups of five. One group worked on our ministry center and poured the foundation for a guard shack near the front of the property. The second group worked on the early stages of a new house for Maria. Maria is a single mother with six
kids. Maria’s current house has a rusty tin roof, rotted wood walls and is only 500 sq. ft.
Tuesday afternoon the team led 30 kids through Kids Club. The kids loved the story of Daniel and the lion’s den as well as the songs and crafts that follow.
Wednesday morning the team continued construction on both locations. The Sun and humidity made things harder, but they did great.
Wednesday afternoon the team helped cook lunch in a local home, over a wood fed stove. After a great meal of baleadas and coconut bread we treated the local kids to an afternoon at the river. Tres Piedras (Three Rocks) is a local swimming hole that is set at the base of the mountains and is located in the middle of a protected rainforest. The kids love the adult attention. It was a great afternoon.
