English Instruction In Armenia Bonito - Seventh Class
We taught our seventh English as a Second Language (ESL) course in the community of Armenia Bonito. This was the 7th of 10 weekly classes we will teach to this group. These classes are on Thursdays from 9am to 11am.
Today we focused on verbs and telling time and time related phrases. We covered the definitions of many verbs, but spent most of our time on conjugation and some irregular differences. We had 12 students in class.
Usually each two-hour ESL class is followed by a one-hour health clinic. We usually treat 10 or so people in that time. Today was a bit different. We were inundated with people with health issues. We saw over 45 people in three hours.
Each person had his or her blood sugar and blood pressure checked. Almost all received medication. Two patients with grave arthritis received medicine injected under their kneecaps. We continue to see a large number of people with high blood pressure.
Erin also treated a boy that is recovering from a crushed toe. His toenail was ripped off and it has swollen to twice the normal size. In addition he walks around in the mud puddles with open toed shoes. He has a major infection. Erin has seen him several times.
Each person received evangelism material and several were prayed with.
