English Instruction In Armenia Bonito - Tenth Class

We taught our tenth English as a Second Language (ESL) course in the community of Armenia Bonito.  This was the 10th of 10 weekly classes we taught to this group. These classes were on Thursdays from 9am to 11am.  We will begin a new series of classes in January.

Today Josh, Jamie and Andy taught the first half of the class.  They are experienced ESL teachers and will be teaching more in the future.  Today they focused on the verb “to be”.  This is a very complicated topic when taught to Spanish speakers.  The verbs to say "he is Honduran", "you are here" and "we are hungry" are
Erin giving the evangalism presentationdifferent.  Erin then gave a 30 minute evangelism presentation to the entire class.  This was very successful and resulted in much conversation.  Our final event of the class was to share a gringo pastry with them…lemon squares, and provide them all with practice papers to take home.  We had 23 students in class.

Josh poking holes in peopleAfter class we held our usual health clinic.  We treated 45 patients in 4 ½ hours.  Each person received medical care, free prescriptions and evangelism.  These clinics are becoming smoother and more efficient.  We have come to the conclusion that medical clinics are astronomically easier with Josh, Jamie and Andy and we have no clue how we ever did it without them.  We think we will never let them go home.
