First Communion In Seven Months
Since we left the U.S. we hadn’t taken communion. The church we attend here in Costa Rica offers communion, but, it is during a midweek service that conflicts with one of our ministries. Therefore, we have not taken communion since arriving here.
To resolve this problem we organized a special communion service with all seven of the MTW missionaries here in Costa Rica. We had seven adults and two kids take communion. In attendance were the Vaughn’s (missionaries to Mexico), McCann’s (missionaries to Honduras), Cam Clausing (missionary to Columbia) and us. The communion was hosted at the Vaughn’s home. Jeff Vaughn is a Teaching Elder in the PCA and administered the communion for us.
Before the communion we had dinner and fellowship with all the kids. While it wasn’t originally planned to have this communion on Palm Sunday it worked out nicely and was a nice bonus.
