Getting Our Scholarship Kids Ready For School
Wednesday was a busy day as we all spent much time focusing on getting our four scholarship kids ready for school. The school year in Honduras runs from February to November.
Erin took all four kids out and registered them in school and purchased school uniforms for all of them. This is a much more complicated task in Honduras – you buy material at one store, get pants tailored at another, buy PE shoes at one store, classroom shoes at a different store, shirts at an additional store, etc.
Mike, the McCanns and some visiting friends spent the morning sorting thousands of school supplies that supporters in the U.S. had sent us for our school supply drive. Erin brought the four scholarship kids by to get all their school supplies. Thanks to the generosity of friends and churches back home we had everything the four kids needed for school and…oh, several thousand additional items for the rest of the community.
