Hasta la vista, baby.

This blog entry comes as we are sitting in the airport waiting to catch our flight to Central America. Today, our last full day in the U.S., consisted of a great worship service at our home church, followed by a wonderful going away party. We shed some tears, received some gifts and exchanged lots of hugs. We did some last minute packing, had a final meal with our dear friends and drove off.

It seems so long ago that that we started this process. We submitted our applications to be fulltime missionaries 2 ½ years ago. Our missions training through MTW started 20 months ago. We visited Honduras for the first time 18 months ago. We sold our home 14 months. We quit our jobs nine months ago. And, we started raising financial support eight months ago.

So much of what has happened in our lives seems so improbable. Nothing could explain our last two years except that God controls everything. Our home – sold in a poor real estate market, within a month of listing, for within a percent of our asking price. Our support raising – was completed in an amazingly quick 7 ½ months, and the final amount required was raised 6 days before we left.  Our vehicles – were all sold without difficulty, including our truck which sold the day before we left.  It is as if someone (read: God) planned it all that way.

We wish to thank our church for believing in us, our supporters for partnering with us, our prayer warriors for lifting us up, our friends and family for loving us unconditionally and God for allowing us to serve Him in this way.

The next you here from us will be from Costa Rica
