Kid’s Christmas Party In Armenia Bonito
On Saturday we hosted a Christmas party for the kids in the poor community of Armenia Bonito. We were planning for 100 or maybe 125 kids to attend. Instead we received 180 children at the party. We were amazed.
The two hour party started with games. The kids played tag, jump rope, soccer, and their favorite…the parachute. We then took the kids into the community center and taught them a Christmas carol, told the story of the birth of Christ and gave them two crafts. One craft was a four page coloring booklet of the birth of Christ and the other was the construction of a scene of Jesus’ birth. We concluded by giving each kid a plate of chicken, vegetables and rice, a drink and a gift bag. The gift bags were full of kid’s Spanish Bible books, toys, pencils, toothbrushes, and more. They were all constructed 
and donated by a supporting church back in the U.S.
The party was a great success. It was intended that we would use this event to reach kids we had never met before. It is our desire that this fiesta helps us to launch a weekly kid’s Bible program in January.
What a joy knowing 180 kids received a nutritious meal, a Christmas gift and the love of Christ.
