La Ceiba Bilingual School
Madison will be attending La Ceiba Bilingual School (CBS). The school has about 900 students from kindergarten through high school. Most of the students are Honduran. Two of her classes each day are in Spanish, the rest are in English. We just got the results back from her placement test. She will be in 7th grade as scheduled.
The school has clubs, activities and after school sports. She has already expressed interest in several activities. They also have a free after school tutoring program.
Every student in Honduras wears a uniform. The junior high and high school girls at CBS wear stripped slacks and white polo shirts. Getting Madison’s school uniforms has been a chore. Shoes from one store, material from a second store, tailored at a third store, polo shirts at a different store and P.E. clothes at a completely different store.
Orientation is the 1st of August and school starts on August 11th. Oh, by the way, school starts at 6:45am.
