Leading Two Church Services In One Day, Third Time
Today is the third Sunday in a row that Mike has lead two church services in one day…kinda.
Our team is very serious about making sure we worship together. So every Sunday we meet at our house for Gringo Church. Erin plays the piano, we all sing, we pray for each other and Mike leads us in a study…all in English. This is an important opportunity to worship in our heart language and worship together. We usually have nine adults and five kids.
Every member of our team also attends a local Spanish speaking church on Sundays. Not always the same one, and not usually together. Our family rotates between the three Evangelical churches in Armenia Bonito. Today, Mike will preach in Spanish at one of the churches.
So, today is the third Sunday in a row that Mike will lead an English study at Gringo Church and then deliver a Spanish sermon in a Honduran church. This is mentally more draining then one might imagine. Preaching is physically tiring, but preaching in Spanish is like preaching twice – once in your head in English and once out your mouth in Spanish. Mike is looking forward to not preaching in any language next Sunday.
