New York City – Day 16 of 31

While we are in New York for our missions training there are several fringe benefits. One of the biggest side benefits is that we get to meet our future teammates in Honduras. Sean, Lindsey and Lucy McCann are here taking the same missions training with us.

Our missions team in Honduras is very small. In fact, at this moment, the team consists of the McCann family and the Pettengill family. So, we were very excited to meet the McCanns and get to know them a little bit before we are all in Honduras.

While we have only been with them for two weeks, we are happy to report that they are great people. With that, we wanted to share with you a little about our teammates and ask you to pray for them.

Sean and Lindsey McCannSean and Lindsey have been married for three years. Sean has a BA in History and Philosophy from Furman University. He just received his Masters of Divinity from Reformed Theological Seminary in Charlotte, NC. Sean is very athletic. He grew up playing basketball, baseball, soccer and track. He is a big Duke University basketball fan and he loves to read.

Lindsey was raised in the small town of Appling, GA. She graduated from Furman University in Greenville, SC. Furman is where Sean and Lindsey met. She received her BS in Health and Exercise Science. After school she worked three years for a law firm. She loves to scrapbook.

Lucy McCannLucy was born on October 24th, 2006. She crawled for the first time on this trip in New York City. Her favorite foods are bananas and sweet potatoes.  Her favorite toys are her stacking rings and her ducky. You can learn more about Lucy at Lucy’s World. She is a great baby.

It makes the anxiety a little easier knowing we will be in Honduras with great, God loving folks.

Check back frequently in July as we will be sharing lots of stories and pictures from our month in New York City.
