Our First Trip Into The Rainforest
At 6am we caught a bus for a two hour trip to Puerto Viejo Sarapiqui Heredia. In this town we caught a boat and took a guided tour up the Sarapiqui River through the protected rainforest. We saw dozens of wild animals including howler monkeys, crocodile, sloth, and much more.
After the boat trip we ended up at La Paz, a series of four waterfalls totaling 300 feet in length. The longest fall is over 100 feet. This required an incredible hike through the rainforest. It was so amazingly dense and green.
What a great day enjoying the natural beauty of Costa Rica.
