Pettengills In The U.S. - Entry 2
Saturday was our first full day in California. We spent the day shopping with Mike’s parents. We purchased a few things we needed like jeans and t-shirts. It is difficult for a 6’ 1” woman to buy clothes anywhere in Central America.
We spent Saturday evening with the great folks from Valley Springs Presbyterian Church. We had dinner with the Chair of the Missions Committee. After dinner we attended their Saturday evening worship service. This was the first time our family attended church in English in 18 months. We were able to address the congregation to share with them how God has been working in Honduras and to thank them. This church previously supplied us with hundreds of those great gift bags that we have given the kids. They gave us 100 more to take back with us.
On Sunday we traveled 600 miles and spent time at three churches. At 8am we attended our home church, Soaring Oaks Presbyterian. We gave a missions update during service and then lead a Bible study after. At 11am we attended Clarksburg Community Church and delivered a missions moment during their service.
We then hopped in the car and drove 270 miles to Paso Robles and spent time with Covenant Presbyterian Church. We went Christmas caroling with the congregation and attended their Christmas party. We were able to share God’s work with many people there.
This busy day enabled us to reconnect with dozens of friends and share our work in Honduras with hundreds more.
