Potholes or Moon Craters?

Potholes in San Jose, Costa RicaThe streets of San Jose, Costa Rica are strewn with potholes.  Downtown, midtown, and the suburbs. There are so many that it makes driving, riding a bike, jogging or even walking a challenging activity. Several of our classmates have report twisted or sprained ankles due to altercations with potholes.

The potholes are so plentiful that busses, cars and motorcycles swerve so much that they look like they are maneuvering through a slalom course. This often makes the average pedestrian feel like they are the frog in that old video game Frogger.

We regularly see pothole-filling construction work being done. Those poor workers must feel like they are filling the Grand Canyon with a tablespoon.
