School Supplies For Honduran Kids

The school year in Honduras begins in February.  However, school is only mandatory through 6th grade and only 30% of the children attend school beyond the 6th grade.  The average Honduran makes only $3000 a year and many can not afford to pay for school or buy school supplies for their children.

kids in Armenia BonitoNumerous children who do attend school do not have sufficient supplies to complete their work.  We would like to provide free school supplies for some of the kids attending school in the poor community of Armenia Bonito.  And, we would like to give you the opportunity to help provide school supplies for the kids of Honduras.

In December we are going to be in California for a few days.  If you or the kids in your church or school are interested in providing school supplies please put them in a small box and mail them to:

Soaring Oaks Presbyterian Church
9169 Union Park Way
Elk Grove, CA 95624
Attn: Pettengill/School

unsharpened pencils
unused pens
small pencil sharpener
ruler with metric and standard measurements
large eraser
colored pencil or pen set
pencil case
spiral bound notebooks
small scissors

Please send only unused supplies.
