Sorting School Supplies And Gringo Church

Erin and Jamie sorting school suppliesThis weekend we sat down to count and sort a mountain of school supplies.  Combined, we as a team, returned from the U.S. with 4500 pencils, 1600 pens, 1800 color pencils, 4450 crayons, 860 markers, 280 glue sticks, 200 pencil sharpeners and a heap of binder paper.  We believe that this is going to be sufficient to seriously impact the lives 400 – 500 kids and their families.  We will attempt to distribute all this on Monday.  Almost all of these school supplies came from you – our prayer warriors and supporters.  Thank you!

Gringo Church in our homeSunday afternoon we continued our tradition of “Gringo Church”.  Every Sunday after we attend a Spanish language church we come home and sing, pray and study – all in English.  We have done this every Sunday since we left the U.S. 19 months ago.  Many times it was just our family.  This Sunday was our first Gringo Church with our entire team.  We were also joined by parts of three other families.  In all we had a mini church service for 21 people in our home.  Erin played the piano, our teammate Josh played the guitar, we all prayed and Mike lead us in a study from Ephesians.
