To The Dump
Matt, a fellow missionary here in La Ceiba, works three or four days a week in a community that was built on and around the city dump. The families there rent the land and build houses in the landfill. They use old tires, crates, scrap wood, etc. to construct their homes.
On Friday Matt took us out to the community to meet several of the families and play with some of the kids. As we walked around we talked with Matt about his ministry plans for the community and how we could help.
We decided that each of the next two weeks we are going to return to the community and host one day medical clinics to serve the people there. As with all of our clinics we will pray and evangelize each person.
This will likely be a temporary ministry for us. But, our friend Matt is doing some great work there and we are happy to glorify Christ and help Matt expand his ministry.
