La Ceiba
La Ceiba is a port city on the northern coast of Honduras, on the Caribbean Sea. With a population of over 150,000, it is the third largest city in the country. Two out of every three people live in poverty. Nearly one third of the population is illiterate. La Ceiba is a friendly city, surrounded by lush jungles, breathtaking mountains, and winding rivers. La Ceiba has been declared by the Honduran Goverment, "The Capital of Ecotourism" due to its diverse natural environment.
