Kate arrived in La Ceiba on November 19th. She has joined our team for at least the next two years. Kate earned a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education: Spanish and a master’s degree in English as a Second Language. She is from Birmingham, Alabama where she worked as an elementary school teacher.
Before serving fulltime in Honduras Kate previously participated in several extended mission ventures in Mexico and Peru. She is fluent in Spanish and has been walking with Christ for 11 years.
Kate is gifted in the areas of missions, teaching, mercy and service. The Lord has been preparing her, even before she was a Christian, for her work in Honduras. Her primary ministry in La Ceiba is to work with homeless kids. Kate has started and will run our new StreetChild program.
Our team and the people of Honduras are very fortunate to have Kate caring for the children nobody else cares for. She genuinely loves the less fortunate. Kate has a great desire to provide the Christ’s mercy and justice to the poor.
Please pray for Kate as she battles the emotional rollercoaster of starting such a difficult ministry in a foreign country.
