Mike arrived in Sacramento after 40-hours of travel from Equatorial Guinea. He was picked up at the airport by our daughter Maddy. Mike spent a couple of days with his sister and parents and then headed down to Southern California to spend time with his brother and other extended family.
Mike and Maddy drove around and drove around and began the process of establishing life back in the US. Mike picked up new cell phones, sorted lots of old mail, obtained a California driver’s license, and sorted through the mountain of household items people purchased from our Amazon wish list.
It has been good to connect with family. It has also been very busy, which helps to keep Mike’s mind off of the weirdness of starting life in a culture we haven’t lived in, in a decade. Erin flies into Southern California on Monday after spending a few days on the East Coast.
