In the morning we met in a group with Eric Larsen. Eric talked to us about MKs (missionary kids). We talked about the impact of the mission field on our children. Children living in new countries tend to be TCKs (third culture kids). They aren’t at home in their new country and they no longer feel at home in their “passport country”. Eric shared some valuable information that will help our children adjust.
After the meeting we were able to meet with Eric on our own. He is on staff with Mission to the World and he shared with us his plan and what he can provide for us when we are in Honduras.
In the afternoon we participated in another lecture taught by John Leonard. John talked to our group about evangelism. He provided insight for us about the hurdles we are likely to face when we evangelize in a new culture.
Check back frequently in July as we will be sharing lots of stories and pictures from our month in New York City.
