Please pray for Honduras. Hurricane Felix made landfall early Tuesday as a Category 5 storm with winds reaching 160 mph. Felix has since been downgraded to a tropical depression, with winds up to 40 miles per hour. It is now forecast to dump up to 25 inches of rain on parts of Honduras where residents in poor, low-lying areas can expect life-threatening flash floods and mud slides before the storm dissipates sometime today.

 

The eastern coast, where Felix landed, is sparsely populated by the Miskito Indians, and is reachable only by air or sea.  At least three people were killed, thousands of homes destroyed, and over 12,000 were sent looking for shelter as Felix pushed over Nicaragua and Honduras.  Thank you for your prayers. The Lord has seen fit to spare Hondruas from the great disaster that many had anticipated.  Please continue to pray for those who look to be impacted by the heavy rains in the next few days.
