At the Spanish Language School here in Costa Rica there are roughly 150 adult students and 200 children. In the past two months their has been an amazing number of serious illnesses. Our small community has had two surgeries, three broken bones and several overnight hospital stays. We have had dozens of cases of strep throat and dozens of cases of a really bad flu, resulting in countless emergency room visits.
This place is a Petri dish. We have all these people in close proximity and the keep sharing their bugs.
The Lord has blessed the Pettengills. In almost two months, while being surrounded by sickness and injury, we have had to endure only one cold in our home, and nothing more.
Please pray for our classmates and our continued health.
