Thanksgiving and A Loss

Today was a great Thanksgiving and a sad one.

First off, we attended the funeral of our Cota Rican landlord Fermin Betancort. Fermin was 71 years old and had been very ill since before we moved here. Fermine passed away on Wednesday.

We were so pleased to see that Fermin’s family was willing to join us and a dozen other American missionaries for an American style Thanksgiving celebration. Our Thanksgiving was very enjoyable. It was our first without family, but, joining together with the other missionaries and the Costa Ricans was a wonderful alternative.
