English As A Second Language – Fifth Class

Erin teaching ESLToday was the fifth day of our English as a Second Language (ESL) class. Mike and Erin are teaching ESL classes for two and a half months. There were 80 students in attendance at the class today. Mike and Erin’s class had 18 students.

Erin taught the ESL class this evening and the students had a great time.  Erin taught on irregular past tense (take vs. took) and past participles (had taken). She brought out the “mystery box”. This is a shoe box containing an item that a student must stand in front of class to describe.  This turned out to be great exercise. Erin concluded the class by giving each student the gift of an English Bible.  Their homework is to be prepared to read two verses in class next week.

This was the first time we taught in the AMCA house following their victory over a legal issue.  This is a wonderful facility with a much more quite and classroom like environment.
