Today Mike spent his last day with Faith Presbyterian Church of Chapin, South Carolina. Mike spoke at three events at the church.
In the morning Mike and our boss Mark, gave a one hour presentation during Bible study time. Fifty adults heard how MTW advances missions and then heard from Mike about Honduras. Mike shared God’s vision and showed a brief video.
During the church service Mike was given a few minutes to share a brief video and tell a little about our work with the congregation. When Mike was done the children of the church came up and gave 50 gift bags to Mike for him to pass on to the kids of Honduras. What a blessing.
After the church service there was a mission luncheon attended by 50 individuals. Mike provided an overview of our work in Honduras and shared with the group some of the cultural differences we have experienced in Honduras. Mike was followed by Dow, one of the mission leaders from the church. Dow explained to the group that Faith would be taking two teams to Honduras in 2009 and took the first signups.
In all, Faith offered Mike six opportunities to share our work in only 2 ½ days. We received 30 new prayer partners and loads of enthusiasm. Faith has such a wonderful church to visit. They were so kind to us and are so very dedicated to the Great Commission.
Check back tomorrow to see what else is going on in Mike’s trip in the U.S.
