Our short-term mission team from Redeemer Presbyterian Church of New York City had two busy days on Monday and Tuesday. This team is full of energy.
Each morning our group did construction work on a church in Armenia Bonito. We are raising and replacing the roof of this small church. The team prepared and painted the new steel beams and added two new rows of cinderblock on top of the existing wall.
Each morning this week the team is running a daily vacation bible school. So far they have had over 50 kids in two days. Each VBS is complete with songs, Bible skits, and crafts.
Monday afternoon our team from Redeemer ran our weekly Kids Club. They brought a whole new energy to the 52 kids that attended. They taught a lesson on the Lord’s Prayer. The kids love the new songs and craft. They participated in the story and even received a snack.
Tuesday our team offered a special health clinic – the first of two for the week. Over 50 patients were seen by Erin and the team’s doctor. The health clinic was a bit crazy, but each person received prayer, evangelism, professional care and free medication.
Tuesday afternoon we taught an English class for 11 students. The focus on the class was weather terms. After the initial lesson on story comprehension the students split into one on one pronunciation work with the mission team. They read and a story from the book of John.
This team is full of liveliness. We pray we can keep up.
