Thursday was one of those not-so-glorious days of being a missionary you seldom hear about. Mike sat in a cubicle in the MTW office for almost 10 hours. He completed reports, our mission application for our next term and accounting work – in other words – paperwork for the glory of Jesus. Not much is blogged about or written about in the great missions biographies detailing the bureaucratic side of missions. But, yes, missionaries do paperwork too. And, if they procrastinate, they do a whole bunch in one day.
Friday, while also filled with much paperwork, allowed for some welcome relief. Mike and our future teammate John Clow got some really good time to touch base and talk about their future together in Honduras. Mike and John also spent a long lunch with the Pastor and the Mission’s Coordinator for Chapel Hill Presbyterian Church. They talked about God’s work in Honduras and how Chapel Hill can get involved.
On Monday Mike flies back to Honduras, but not before a busy weekend.
