On Wednesday morning we bid farewell to the 17-person short-term mission team from East Lanier Community Church in Buford, GA. They concluded their 10-day mission trip and are headed home.
Monday was their last full day of work in Armenia Bonito. They started the day by broadcasting two important World Cup matches for the community. We projected the matches on the wall of the community center and provided blue and white face paint for all. More then 60 people showed up to watch Honduras lose 0-2 to the powerhouse Spain team. After some soccer of our own we had the team help teach their second English class in Armenia.
The team spent their last full day in Honduras on the beach. Tuesday was their day off and the team enjoyed a well-deserved day of relaxation.
This team did a wonderful job and we appreciate their efforts greatly. Now we have a couple of days to clean up and prepare for the next team’s arrival on Saturday.
