Summer Ending With A Bang

After sixteen short-term mission teams our busy summer is about to end. Our final two mission teams are finishing their week and have shown lots of love and mercy to the people of Honduras.

The 13-person team from Peace Presbyterian Church of Cary, NC has been serving in La Fe and in our home for single mothers, Puerta de Esperanza. On Wednesday they went to La Fe and washed some kids’ heads in the river. They also spent some time learning how to wash clothes on a rock. In the afternoon they had lunch with our teammate Kate and a few of her homeless kids and then did some construction work on our downtown property. On Thursday they spent time at Puerta de Esperanza and helped teach an English class.

The 8-person team from Covenant Presbyterian Church of Paso Robles, CA has been working in Armenia Bonito. On Wednesday and Thursday morning the team from Covenant made lots of progress on a new house for the Hernandez family. On Wednesday afternoon they took 30 kids to the river to swim and had a great time socializing with kids that don’t often get much attention. On Thursday the group helped put on a medical clinic that treated 35 patients.

On Friday the two teams will slow down a little and see the sites. On Saturday morning both teams leave and our 2012 summer mission season comes to an end.

  1. Hermanos,

You can see the finish line – well done!

It’s our turn to be “in the cone” – please be in prayer for Isaac.

    Un abrazo, John
