This past weekend our daughter Madison competed in the Honduran national Knowledge Bowl. She and a team of students from her high school traveled seven hours to the capital city of Tegucigalpa. They were there for four days competing against 17 other teams from around country.
The Knowledge Bowl tested the teams in a head to head format. The teams competed in mathematics, history, literature and trivia. A team was awarded points if one of its members buzzed in the fastest and answered a question correctly. Madison, who was the only girl on her team, exceled in the areas of art, literature and history.
Competition lasted 12-hours each day. Madison’s team was very competitive and a big surprise in the competition. They finished third in their division and all had a wonderful time.
This was Madison’s first visit to Tegucigalpa and a wonderful opportunity for her.
