On Thursday we held the grand opening for the “Tree of Life” medical clinic (Clínica “El Árbol de la Vida”) in Armenia Bonito outside of La Ceiba, Honduras. For three years we have been working toward this day. Dr. Roger Guillén, a Honduran born Cuban trained physician and Erin, run our new clinic.
Before the “Tree of Life” opened the residents of Armenia Bonito were forced to ride a bus more than an hour to receive medical treatment. While waiting to be seen the patients of our clinic will receive individual prayer and evangelism from Jesús Caseres, pastor of our newly planted First Presbyterian Church of La Ceiba.
The name “Tree of Life” comes from Revelation 22:2. The tree of life represents eternal life found only in Christ. The leaves of the tree provide both physical and spiritual healing to the unreached throughout the world. The “Tree of Life” is a symbol of the curing of the body and the healing of the soul that come from our merciful God. Both types of healing will be found in God’s new clinic in Honduras.
