This week we are hosting a short-term mission team from Manor Presbyterian Church of Cochranville, PA. Manor is a frequent visitor to La Ceiba, Honduras. This time they sent us six of their best missionaries.
Following a late arrival Saturday night, they joined us for a busy day Sunday. On Sunday they took a tour of La Ceiba, joined us at our home for Gringo Church and then enjoyed evening worship at a Spanish speaking Honduran church.
On Monday they had their first full day of ministry. The Monday morning started with some construction at our downtown ministry center. The team started building a wooden shack on top of our dorms. They hauled the wood to the top of the two-story structure and measured, hammered and cut all the wood they would need to build the frame.
In the afternoon they went out to Armenia Bonito and toured our ministry center. They then helped teach an English class to 22 students. They helped them with their reading and pronunciation. At the end of class they administered the oral exams to the students.
Manor has had a very busy first couple of days.
