Heroes, Heat And Houses

Our two short-term mission teams are doing great in La Ceiba. Westminster Presbyterian from Clinton, SC has 11 people working with us in Armenia Bonito and Wellington Presbyterian from Wellington, FL has six people working with the Troxells in La Fe.

IMG_4629Sunday was busy for both teams. The day began with Gringo church. Mike delivered a study from 1 Samuel and one of the visiting pastors administered communion. The group was then taken on a guided tour of La Ceiba. At noon Erin took much of the group through the Darkness to Light child abuse prevention training. In the evening we all went to Spanish language Honduran church where the pastor preached on being heroes.

IMG_4607On Monday the groups separated. Westminster went out to Armenia Bonito. In the morning they helped with construction on a new house for the Guevara family. In the afternoon they helped us teach the first class in a 10-week ESL section. The 35 students learned vocabulary about eating and then the mission team helped them with their pronunciation while reading the Bible in English
