Changing Of The Guards

photo 1Pastor Israel (left) will no long be shepherding our Presbyterian church plant in the community of Danto. Effective immediately pastor Vincente (right) will take over as the new pastor of the church.

In August we brought in pastor Israel to lead our 2nd church plant in La Ceiba. Israel has done a wonderful job launching and guiding the new church. Very quickly after starting the church we discovered his true gifts surround the mentoring and training of new pastors. He has been a pastor trainer for 15-years and continued doing that work while preaching at the church.

Pastor Israel and Mike agreed to bring in Vincente as the pastor of the Danto church in order to free up Israel’s time. This now allows Israel to dedicate 100% of his time to raising up and training new pastors to plant churches with us in Honduras. This will enable us to take some of Mike’s church planting responsibilities and put them on the shoulders of a capable and experienced Honduran national.

photo 1Vincente Blanco is a 48-year-old experienced pastor. He and his wife are expecting their fourth baby. Vincente has taken over the preaching, teaching and daily shepherding of the church in Danto. Mike and Israel attended a special meeting of the congregation to announce and install Vincente as pastor. Israel and his family will continue to attend Vincente’s church.

Please be in prayer for pastors Israel and Vincente as they assume their new roles within the Presbyterian church in Honduras.
