Wrapping Up First Week Of Mission Teams

roofOur mission team is concluding our first full week of short-term mission teams. Faith Presbyterian Church of Ballentine, SC and Naperville Presbyterian Church of Naperville, IL our serving as our first two mission teams of the ten teams we will host this summer.

This has been our first ever attempt at mixing up the location of where teams serve. In the past our visiting mission teams served in one location (Armenia Bonito or La Fe). This summer we are having teams serve in one community the first day and a second community riverthe following day. This approach is more conducive to our current ministry needs. With church plants and mercy ministries spread throughout a half dozen communities we need our visiting missionaries to spread their mercy.

On both Wednesday and Thursday the groups did construction work in Armenia Bonito. They worked on pouring the floor and starting the roof of our new church and building pulpits for our pastors. The group also helped in our medical clinic. The two dentists from Faith pulled 68 teeth in three days.

On Thursday, some of the missionaries were also serving our church plant in La Fe and teaching sewing in our home for teenage moms. In La Fe the group started digging a septic tank for our church plant.

Friday the groups will finish their service. They fly out on Saturday. We greatly appreciate this groups flexibility and service. Pray for their final full day on Friday and their travels home to the US.

On Saturday we exchange this hard working group of 23 short-term missionaries for two new mission teams with 23 new short-term missionaries.
