Mike In Cambodia – Part 1

imageThis past weekend Mike made the 24-hour trip from San Francisco to Siem Reap, Cambodia. During this week Mike is joining 130 other MTW missionaries, national partners and staff at a week-long missionary leadership conference. The purpose of the meeting is to gather together the Team Leaders of MTW’s mission teams from all over the world. The Team Leaders are receiving great teaching and meeting together in small groups to address major mission-related issues. The conference kicked off on Monday.

On Tuesday morning the group gathered together for worship and then heard a message from MTW’s new Director, Dr. Lloyd Kim. Dr. Kim shared his heart and his struggles with his new calling as MTW’s leader.

imageDuring the day the missionaries broke into small groups and began addressing six important issues for missions. Mike’s group began discussing addressing the difficulties of collaborating with national churches and denominations.

In the afternoon the group heard a message from Dr. Michael Oh. Dr. Oh is an MTW missionary in Japan and the Director of the Lausanne Movement. He talked about resources for global evangelism.

The conference will continue through Friday.
