On Sunday Mike had a busy day of talking and sharing about missions and our work in Honduras.
Early in the morning Mike Skyped into the adult Sunday School class of Christ Covenant Church in Charlotte, NC. Mike was the “guest expert” to help the group talk about the church and immigration. With Mike’s background in politics, work with youth and gangs and living in Honduras for nearly seven years, he brought a unique insight to the topic. Mike helped the group see God’s calling for all of his disciples when it comes to foreigners and sojourners.
Later in the morning Mike visited Covenant Community Church in Scottsdale, AZ. Mike was afforded the opportunity to provide a missions moment and update the congregation on our ministry in Honduras. Covenant was one of the early supporters of our ministry, since 2007. Covenant has also sent several short-term mission teams to work by our sides in La Ceiba. Mike talked with many old and new friends and ate lunch with the congregation after the service.
In the evening Mike joined Covenant Presbyterian Church in Sun City West, AZ. Mike was given 45 minutes to share our ministry during the service. He told several stories about the people impacted by our ministry and gave an overview of what God has been doing in La Ceiba. The group was moved by Mike’s ministry report and they had many questions about our work. After the service Mike visited the pastor’s house and shared a few more stories with members of the congregation.
This was a long 14-hour day full of talking about missions. However, we couldn’t think of anything we’d rather talk about. It is always a joy to share God’s glory with others.
