December 7th is my (Mike’s) half-life-a-versary. This is the day where I have been married to Erin for exactly half of my life. I just turned 47 and have been married for 23 1/2 years. Don’t worry, I actually calculated the number of days and everything.
It is kind of a cool day to mark on the calendar and commemorate. From this day forward I get the privilege of saying, “I have spent the majority of my life married to Erin.” What a special joy for me. It is amazing just thinking that I have spent more days linked in a Christian covenantal marriage than I have not.
I became a Christian at 21, so it is also amazing to think that I spent almost all of my unmarried life separated from Christ and 100% of my married life united with Christ as the controlling force in my life. I have no idea how Erin and I would have survived the past 23 1/2 years without Jesus.
I pray our Lord gives us many more years together so we can rest in him and attempt to glorify him as he uses us to sanctify each other.
