Pulling Guard Duty

Edited_ImageEasyImageEditor_20160407_119[1]This weekend we are pulling guard duty in our community for the first time. The place we live doesn’t employ a guard. Each of the residents agrees to pull periodic weekend guard duty. Because most of the residents are evangelicals, the property is pretty empty on Sundays and vulnerable to robbery from outsiders.

Edited_ImageEasyImageEditor_20160407_120[1]We rent a home owned by the Asociación Cristiana de Traducciones Bíblicas (ACTB). ACTB is a Bible translation ministry. They own more than two-acres next door to the IBCP seminary, our primary ministry site. On the ACTB property sits a small conference center, several small houses, some offices and a few apartments. The residents of ACTB consists of several Equatorial Guinean nationals and several missionaries from Mexico, Chile, Costa Rica and the US.

Our home sits in the center of the property. We’ll keep an eye out for our neighbors homes, because that is what we’d want them to do for us.
