On Saturday our family attended the graduation ceremony for the three newest graduates from the master’s program at the IBCP seminary. Three students received their diplomas after completing the arduous program. These three men are now more prepared than ever to glorify Christ in Africa. One graduate is already pastoring a church and the other two are prayerfully considering planting new churches.
The graduation ceremony had a lively band and a sermon was preached by one of the professors of the seminary. The graduates were prayed over and given a charge to go into the world and know there will be trials, but God is with them. There were many elated family members and friends of the new graduates who were thrilled at the accomplishments of the three. There was louder music, more dancing, more tongue trilling, more toy whistles and more joy than we might see at a seminary graduation in the U.S. It was a wonderful event and we were thrilled to see these men kick off their service to the Lord.
