November 9, 2016 is the 10-year anniversary of our missions website. We made our first ever blog post on pettengillmissionaries.org on November 9, 2006.
For a missionary website to last 10-years is amazing. Heck, for any website to last 10-years is amazing. The original MySpace had a six-year run before it was redefined and rebuilt as a social entertainment site instead of a social networking site. Seriously? We beat MySpace? Cool!
But, more rare than simply existing for 10-years is the fact that this website has been prolific in posting regular updates and continued to received heavy traffic. It has been used as a ministry tool that continues to connect us (the missionaries) with you (the prayers and supporters). The site has not only been a source of keeping in contact with supporters, but it has been a way to teach and educate about God’s mandate for global evangelism. In the life of this website it has been visited by people in more than half the countries in the world.
This website was launched 3,657 days ago. In that time we have published 1,848 blog posts. That equates to one missions related blog post every 1.9 days. In addition the site averages over 250 original visitors each day. That means 250 different devices (phones, laptops or desktops) visit this site everyday. Over ten years, for a missionary site, that is astonishing.
Thanks to you, this blog has turned into a valuable ministry tool, in and of itself.
