Thanks To The McCann Family

The McCann FamilyWe started down our Honduras mission journey simultaneously with Sean and Lindsey McCann. None of us knew each other five years ago, but our family has grown to value them as friends. To that, we are both sad and elated to report that in April they will conclude their time of service in Honduras as fulltime missionaries.

They have been integral members of our team for over two years. The McCanns started this ministry with us and have poured out just as much blood, sweat and tears and any of us. It is sad that we will not be able to love and work with them on a daily basis, but we know God’s timing is perfect. The McCanns have completed their two-year term and we are parting as dear friends.

It is thrilling to know that they will return to the U.S. continuing to work for our Lord. Sean has accepted yet another call to the ministry as an Assistant Pastor at Sovereign Grace Presbyterian Church in Charlotte, NC.

Since we have become close to the McCanns we have watched their family grow from three to five and learned to love each of them. We wish they could stay with us longer, but we are thrilled that God has allowed us to spend as much time with them as we have.

The McCanns have blessed our ministry and our family. Please continue to pray for them as they begin the process of closing out one stressful part of their lives and opening a new one.

Our Newest Teammate

Lindsey and AnnaPlease welcome our newest teammate, Anna Hunt McCann. Anna was born in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. She weighs 9 pounds 10 ounces, and is 20 inches long. The birth went very well with no complications. Mom Lindsey and baby Anna are doing great.

The McCann family is back in their house in La Ceiba. Please continue to pray for rest for the family and strong health for Anna and Lindsey.

Please Pray For Our Teammates

The McCannsPlease be in prayer for our teammates Sean and Lindsey McCann. Sean and Lindsey will be having their third baby girl in the next couple of days. They will deliver their new baby in San Pedro Sula, Honduras.

They will have lots of support in the form of four visiting grandparents and our teammates the Clows, but sure wish we could be there to help them out. Join us in praying for a healthy baby and mommy, a sane father and two excited big sisters.

Please Be In Prayer For Our New Teammates

As many of you know there are currently four adults on MTW’s team here in La Ceiba – the Pettengills and the McCanns. But, what you may not be aware of is that we have six more adults joining our team in the near future.

John and Kathy Clow, and their four kids, are experienced MTW missionaries who served almost four years in Mexico. They have attended language school and all their training. They are currently in Georgia raising the final little bit of support they need to be here. They will be joining us as career missionaries.

Shannon Innes is a gal from Cary, North Carolina. She is currently going through her training and has already raised 60% of her financial support. In January she leaves for a month of training in Belgium. After she raises her final bit of support she will attend language school in Costa Rica for a spell. Shannon will be joining us for at least two years. Shannon currently works at her church.

Mike and Ashley Troxell are a couple from Scottsdale, Arizona. They have just started their training and will begin raising support in January. After a stint at language school in Costa Rica the Troxells will be joining us for at least two years. The Troxells spent a week here in La Ceiba with us as short-term missionaries this past summer.

Bethany Russell is a gal from Cresaptown, Maryland. She just started her training and will begin raising support in January. After some tom in Costa Rica she will be joining us for at least two years. She has spent much of her life preparing for the mission field.

All six of these new teammates still must raise financial support and four of them still have MTW’s training and language school to attend. You are welcome to follow them all on their blogs.  Please be in regular prayer for all of our new teammates.

New Teammates In Honduras

Mike and the McCannsToday Mike and our teammate Bob drove the 2 ½ hours to San Pedro Sula.  They went to the airport to pick up our teammates the McCanns.  Sean and Lindsey and their girls Lucy and Ellie will be living in our home for a few weeks while they are looking for a home.

We are so excited to finally have this day arrive.  We have been looking forward to this day ever since we first talked to them on the phone in late 2006.  The McCanns have been focused on serving in La Ceiba for a long time.  We completed much of our training together, including four months together studying Spanish in Costa Rica.

This is a great time for Team Honduras.  Please pray for our team as we grow rapidly and increase our ministry efforts.
