All About Honduras In Utah

On Sunday God’s work in Honduras was glorified in the heart of Utah. We spent the day with the great folks of Grace Presbyterian Church in Layton, UT.

Erin, Mike and Madison taught the 9:30am Sunday school hour. We talked about the kids of Honduras to a mixed group of adults and children.

Erin and Madison talking about Honduras at GraceDuring the worship service Erin and Madison delivered brief mission moment where they talked about our ministry. Mike was given the opportunity to preach the message. At the end of the service all three of us were invited back up front and the church leaders prayed over our family.

In the afternoon we were invited to two separate social events to fellowship with members from Grace.

It was a pleasure to share Honduras with so many wonderful people.

In Utah To Talk About Honduras

On Thursday we drove 12 hours from Phoenix to Salt Lake City. We are in Utah for four days to share about Honduras.

The drive from Phoenix to Salt Lake CityThe drive was beautiful and very cold. Northern Arizona and Utah are very attractive drives. Unfortunately the cold spell covered our drive with lots of cold and snow. From the time we left Phoenix the temperature never got above 28 and was as low as -2. Every gas, potty or food stop looked like a fire drill as we raced from place to place to avoid the cold.

Mike talking at presbyteryOn Friday Mike attended a regional presbytery meeting. This is a gathering of church leaders and pastors from two dozen Presbyterian churches from three states. Mike shared with the group about missions in general and Honduras specifically. There was great interest and lots of discussions.

Utah Church Tour Part IV

We just concluded our four day trip through Utah. While we were there we shared our plans for Honduras with members of PCA church plants.

The Bonneville Salt Flats in UtahThis was a very fruitful trip. We had plenty of time to share God’s plan for us in Honduras with dozens of individuals. While in Utah we were able to sit down and have three relaxing meals with large groups of people. This allowed us to share one-on-one with numerous people.

On Sunday Mike preached at Grace Church in Layton, UT. After service we received 16 new prayer partners and a couple new financial supporters. In addition, Grace Church agreed to support us financially and through prayer. We received much positive feedback and many commitments for prayer.

Anthony Thomas, the Executive Director, of Mission Utah expressed a great interest in our work in Honduras. He expressed a desire to see more support for our work from the five Utah-based, PCA churches. Pastor Krafft of Grace church and Pastor Barton of Jordan Presbyterian have each expressed great interest in supporting Team Honduras.

We are so pleased God introduced us to these brothers and sisters in Utah. They were all truly a blessing to us. It was exciting to familiarize ourselves with the work they are doing on the mission field of Utah.

While this was a brief trip, it was very God honoring. We would like to extend a huge thanks to Pastor Krafft for organizing everything for us and making our life easy. We would also like to thank the Littles for putting us up in their home, carting us around, feeding us, and laughing with us. Thanks to the Littles and the Kraffts for their Christ honoring selflessness and love.
