Worship, Rice and Praise

Receiving a gift from Sanctuary of PraiseToday we worshiped at Sanctuary of Praise in Vallejo.   Sanctuary of Praise was the first church to join Team Honduras back in January. We first visited this congregation back on January 28th.
We shared God’s plan for us in Honduras and thanked them for their financial support and consistent prayer. They sent us off with a gift of a Honduras t-shirt. Pastor Gloria preached a great message from Hebrews. After service we joined the congregation for some great food and fellowship.
Sanctuary of Praise is a small, young church that financially supports three missionaries. Please pray for this God honoring congregation.

Faith, Prayer and the Ox

Today we were able to worship with Faith Presbyterian Church of Sonoma.  This was our second visit to Faith. Mike and Madison were able to visit back in March.
This congregation has already signed on as one of the members of Team Honduras. This visit was intended to allow us to worship with our brothers and sisters. We were also able to say thank you for their prayers and financial support and to share with them our prayer needs. Pastor Tim invited us to the front during service and the leadership of the church prayed over us and asked God to be with us as we head out to Honduras.
After the service we joined some of the congregation for a little fellowship. We walked down to the town square and went to Sonoma’s 40th annual Ox Roast, where we enjoyed live music, an ox plate and some great conversation.
We really enjoy the fellowship, teaching and support from Faith. We hope to see ya’ll on a short-term trip to Honduras in the future.

Worship at Soaring Oaks Presbyterian

Erin playing the piano at churchSunday evening Mike and Erin were given the privilege of running the evening service at our home church. Erin played the piano for all of the worship music and Mike preached the evening message.
Erin, who has been playing the piano for less then three years, played four songs. Erin played I’m Trading My Sorrows, My Hope Is You, I Need Thee Every Hour, and Be Still My Soul. She did a great job!
Mike preached a message titled “When I Am Weak”. The message was taken from II Corinthians 12:7-10 and covered prayer, the sufficiency of Christ, and God’s glory.
We look forward to doing similar work in Honduras.
